For non-generic issues, specific trainings are conducted specifically for an institution based on its identified needs. Some of the trainings that have been conducted included Basic Accounting and Book Keeping, project management, Livestock management, Credit and Financial Management, Organizational Development and Management; Community Development; Strategic planning, Business Development & leadership training, marketing of financial Service; participatory monitoring and evaluation & Customer relationship. Etc.

 

The generic training programmes include Basic Accounting and Book-keeping, Business and Strategic Planning, Credit Management, Information and Communication, Peoples Management, Programme Management, Financial Management, Organizational Development and Management, Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers as well as the HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming.

The objectives of these courses are to upgrade the skills of group leaders on how to manage groups better as well as equip them with skills to manage their finances and credit schemes.

 

Among others trained by CDF are:

  • NLNG Micro Credit Program: As at August 2006, the CDF have trained 268 organizations covering 532 participants in group management, financial and credit management
  • NLNG Youth Empowerment Scheme: 108 trainees were selected on a competitive basis from the companys host communities.
  • LiveWIRE Nigeria Program: Shell Petroleum Development Company and Shell International Foundation under LiveWire Youth empowerment program implemented by CDF have trained 3,068 in business/enterprise developments.
  • Delta State Government youth empowerment program: 600 youths were trained and financial support provided to 563 start up business.
  • Agip Skill Acquisition Program: 95 Youths were trained by CDF under this program from October 2010.
  • Agip Microcredit Program: CDF trained 35 Entrepreneurs under the Agip Micro credit scheme
  • CDF Client Partners: CDF have trained 260 clients from different geographical zones of the federation.
  • CBN Micro Finance Certification Training Program: This training program is been implemented by CDF to achieve CBN Microfinance Certification objective. A total of 377 MFBs were trained to date.
